The unique design and colors on this silk scarf are from actual collected leaves in my area and in my travels within the US. The scarf is 8" x 54" in size and pure silk. Plant matter are heirloom roses ranging from tiny Scottish roses to Lady Banks, Old Dawn, Seven sisters.

Eco dyeing or botanical printing involves the foraging and collecting of Nature's leaves, plants, fruit and flowers to begin a journey of preparation before emerging on the fiber in unique, all natural designs and colors drawn directly from the plant matter. Like the journey of a butterfly, each piece undergoes its own personal dye transformation before emerging 2-5 days later in the beautiful colors of its metamorphosis. Each textile tells its own story. That is what makes it such an exciting and unique art form.
Every scarf comes with a tag with the story of its making. A unique and unusual gift! Totally sustainable, renewable and eco-friendly art form.

My silk studio is on my mini-farm and is set up for traditional and non-traditional dyeing. I have shelves with various plants and flowers set aside for the winter when the many plants are no longer available. Each piece is hand painted and dyed by me, artist M Theresa Brown in my North Carolina studio.

Use same washing instructions as all silk products: hand wash in cool water, drip dry, iron as needed.
