Learn how to Ecoprint on LEATHER and Make a Clutch Bag!
Come to my NC studio and learn to Ecoprint on Leather and make a CLutch Bag with your leather! This 2 day workshop is Sat and Sun, April 18-19, 2020 from 10:00 am-4:00 pm.
Whether you are experienced or new to botanical printing, you’ll tap into a new area learning to ecoprint on leather in this 2 day comprehensive workshop at my NC studio! You’ll learn all you need to know from collecting your plants, to the types of leather that work best, to my techniques on leather, the care, maintenance, sealants, softening and sewing techniques by hand (and demonstration on a machine). See My photo examples You will be creating an actual completed clutch bag using the leather supplied in the workshop (and with your designs!) and the tools (purchased by you for leatherwork)
Leather is the one medium where seeing , touching and smelling it in person in a workshop is important to your complete understanding and success in using it!
This is pure ecoprinting-no digital imprinting or non-botanical techniques are used (stamping, blockprinting, etc) :-). Some experience is preferred in this class as well as a desire to embrace this new form of printing. If you are a leather crafter OR ecoprinter on fabric, this is new territory and I teach it from the ground up. The supplies ($65.00 worth) are included in this workshop.
The two day course is $365.00 with all leather, purse hardware and equipment to ecoprint included. Pay in full or in 2 payments. You’ll leave with one 5 sq ft. hide and a number of sample sections from assorted leathers you have created giving you the experience to know the look and feel of the best leathers to use as well as the ability to create something after you leave! Additional hides will be available for purchase at the workshop
Students will be given the link to purchase a leather tool kit online (Amazon) to use in hand stitching their clutch bags or they can bring similar tools from their own studios if they have them.
